The idea of focusing on New Paltz or other surrounding areas seems like it would be easiest since we all spend time here and are familiar with it. However, I like the idea Damien suggested of doing something with the presidential campaign. So, maybe our best option would be to address large topics and issues (like the presidential campaign) but with a smaller focus (how new paltz students/residents are following the campaign). So, I guess I'm suggesting something along the lines of a New Paltz viewpoint on popular topics. Of course, the campaign could be one or a few people's topic, each story covering a different idea or angle involved, and then this still leaves room for other people to explore topics they might want to.
