a site focusing on new paltz....

i love erica's idea. it definitely would give everyone a chance to focus on what topics they'd want to cover in future journalistic endeavors, and provide a spot for those who are new to new paltz (new residents, new students, tourists) to get a better idea of what new paltz is about.it would be great if we could have profiles for the majority of the businesses, political groups, restaurants, neighborhoods (like the ones hidden from the college community, where the New Paltz rug rats live), maybe even bands, clubs, and any other little pieces that make up the New Paltz puzzle.in a general sense (sort of)>>>it would of require us to do profiles, features, hard stories (there would be a section on new paltz news), and even a section called: new paltz = beauty beauty = art... where we'd profile students that do the art thing... BFAs MFAs, we'd profile and have pictures of their work... they benefit from the publicity, and we benefit from the experience... and (i think i'm rambling, but i've gotta finish this really big brain fart) when the final senior shows come up near the last few weeks of the semester, we'll have the opportunity to work on deadline and maybe a few of us could follow one or two (boy and girl/ visual and ___) students as they go through the process of picking their final theme, their space in the museum, and opening night...it could be really wonderful... and a lot of work... but what ever we put our minds to....isn't impossible.ps: i 'd love to do photography, but i love writing too, so i'd like to write and do photo's on the side (and i have a feeling one person in each group is going to have to be in charge of photos, so i wouldn't mind) annnnnd i'd love to get a lot of experience with layout... i have dreams of making a website of my own (smile)i'm a little (well, REALLY) scattered, but this ^ was more a creative rant and is no reflection on what i would write for classtake care
